Founded by Max Pollard, Logan Carmody & Eddie Conk
They have worked together for years and co-founded Cotool in 2025.
Max Pollard (CEO) led the forward deployed engineering team at Material, working directly with security teams to understand their workflows and pain points. He built the team up from one to 8 engineers and embedded himself with the world's best security programs. Previously he worked as a SE at Okta. He holds a BA in Business and Computer Science from UC Berkeley.
Eddie Conk (CPO + Head of AI) spent the last 3 years at Material Security, leading the ML Engineering function. He developed and trained AI models for detecting Phishing emails at scale for some of the largest and most secure companies in the world. Previously he was an ML Engineer at Apple, and holds a BA in Computer Science from UC Berkeley.
Logan Carmody (CTO) was an early engineer and the technical lead for the Phishing Protection product at Material Security. He helped develop the proprietary language and compiler which Material’s threat researchers used to detect Phishing messages and Workspace breaches. He previously was a Staff SWE at LinkedIn working in infrastructure, and holds a BS in Computer Science and Philosophy from Duke University.
Together, they have spent years embedded with some of the world's best security teams. They are passionate about helping security teams focus on what they do best – hunting threats, not handling workflows.
Security is complex, but the problems facing most teams are not:
Before founding Cotool, the team collaborated with cutting-edge security teams including OpenAI, Coinbase, Figma, and DoorDash, experiencing these universal challenges firsthand.
Advancements in AI now offer an opportunity to truly reimagine this model; by building intuitive, collaborative tools that complement, not replace, security professionals.
Cotool provides a suite of Agents and an AI co-pilot designed specifically for security teams, streamlining workflows and reducing frustration through:
