Waypoint launched on Y Combinator's "Launch YC" last week.
Waypoint is an email delivery platform and API. Software teams use Waypoint to build, orchestrate, and monitor email notifications – with little to no code.
Founded by Jordan Isip and Carlos Rodriguez-Rosario. Jordan is a Product designer with over 15 years of experience helping grow and develop new products within large organizations and small startups. Carlos focuses his expertise on payments, tax compliance, infrastructure as a service, and messaging tools.
Together they've built a new kind of email service with unique approaches to helping teams divide and conquer the workload. Waypoint is their approach to product-triggered emails. It's a platform they wish they had while building software in the past and they're now on a mission to help other software companies improve their overall experience and avoid frustrations.
Waypoint makes it easy for software teams to design, orchestrate, and monitor product-triggered emails. Think of it as an email delivery service that is geared for data-rich transactional emails (like order confirmations, reminders, receipts, alerts, and other system notifications).
Adding data-rich email notifications to software in 2023 is still a pain. Most email tools are repurposed marketing email builders for templates with little to no dynamic data. This means getting data into branded templates and setting up logic around them (eg. delays) still requires significant code within your code base. Additionally, existing tools are lacking from an observability standpoint which makes it difficult for developers to test and debug.
While it’s easy to hate on emails, the truth is that emails still act as the ‘glue of UX’ for most platforms and it is often the key to onboarding and engaging users.

"Loved by developers but designed for the entire product team"
