‍Founded by John Provine & Asa Schachar

John&Asa met while working together at Optimizely (W10), where they co-created the company’s developer-focused product. While they saw the power of analytics firsthand, they always felt there had to be a better way to uncover the ‘why’ behind the numbers. Before Voicepanel, Asa co-founded Level (S21, acquired by Vouch) and John led product teams at Google.

The problem

As shipping new products becomes easier, collecting quality user feedback is becoming a bottleneck to crafting successful products.

For decades companies have used basic surveys to keep a pulse on their users, but people are tired of them. The best product teams talk to their users regularly, but scheduling interviews for users to weigh in every product decision is an impossible task.

Their solution

Voicepanel delivers detailed feedback from users over chat, voice, video, or screen share on a continuous or on-demand basis. No survey coding or interview scheduling is required: product teams tell Voicepanel their learning objectives and get back detailed responses & reports in Slack.

How does it work?

Voicepanel requires setting up one or more intercepts:

1. Product embed (currently web apps only; native mobile apps coming soon)
2. Link sharing (e.g. by email when user reaches a key milestone)
3. Research panel (based on unlimited custom screening & demographic criteria)

From there, product teams simply state their learning objectives. Voicepanel automates the process of recruiting respondents, screening for quality, conducting conversations, distributing incentives, and sharing the responses in real-time.
