The End Close team has 6 years of experience building systems to reconcile a trillion dollars annually.
Founded by Sean Bolton & David Newell
Meet Sean and David, co-founders of End Close.
Sean spent 6 years building the reconciliation org at Modern Treasury (S18) where he was the 2nd engineering hire, processing a trillion dollars in payments across 40 banks with 99.995% automation. He has built high volume ACH and Wire origination systems and is the primary contributor of the popular open-sourced LedgerSync library for integrating with legacy ERP providers.
David is a second time founder, having previously gone through YC S19 with Unflow, helped creators earn $100k+ selling live classes online during COVID. Since then he led the error tracking team at PostHog (W20). He was responsible for launching and growing the product to thousands of customers in its first 6 months, the fastest growing in the company’s history. He also has experience as a product engineer at Intercom and Basecamp
Every day, ops teams at payments companies spend hours manually investigating exceptions - transactions that didn't match, funds that can't be accounted for, discrepancies across banks, processors, and ledgers. Legacy reconciliation tools weren't built for this. They were designed for month-end close, not real-time fintech infrastructure. And the cost of getting it wrong is real: lost money, unreliable financials, and compliance exposure.
End Close continuously ingests records from your banks, processors, and data warehouse - so exceptions are caught as soon as they arise, not weeks later during month-end close.
And unlike most reconciliation tools that only tell you something is wrong, their AI agent handles exceptions end-to-end before they have time to compound - pulling context from connected systems, finding the root cause, and resolving them without looping in your team. Hours of manual investigation become minutes of autonomous work, with full transparency into every decision.
