Starlight Charging recently launched!

Founded by Andrew Kouri
The US needs 100x more EV charging stations to be installed in the next 10 years if gasoline cars will be replaced by EVs. Rather than leaving this work up to the oil companies, who will drag their feet, Starlight Charging thinks blitzscaling charging needs to be done right, and done soon.
As with most real estate, not all locations are created equal. It’s hard to predict which potential installation sites will see high utilization and profitability. What’s more, running an installation process in commercial environments (like multifamily apartment buildings or condos) is complicated and overwhelming.
Starlight Charging is empowering the hard-working electricians of the world to not only solve the charging gap, but also be financially rewarded for doing so. They built magical software that can help analyze millions of candidate charging station locations for profitability, and manage the installation process – everything from permitting and contracts to material and labor management. The Starlight team built integrations with over 30 different EVSE manufacturers, so that you can operate different charging station models all from one dashboard.
After installation, operating a charging station business does require some ongoing work – stations need to be regularly inspected, updated, and retail prices need to be adjusted for fluctuations in energy prices. Starlight’s all-in-one platform streamlines this part of the business for you. Just like a vending machine, as people use your charging stations, you’ll collect small amounts of revenue day-after-day.

The Partner Program includes:
One electrical firm who has been given early-access to some tools from the Starlight Partner Program is Smart Charge America. “With the Proscope Virtual Visit tool by Starlight, we have totally optimized our quoting workflow. We now have the superpower to digitally perform site walks at any job site in the world, saving us hundreds of hours of commuting time while also increasing our customer win-rate by 20%. In most cases, we’re able to turn around quotes to our customers in under 60 minutes,” says David Laderberg, CTO at Smart Charge America.
They spent several years honing their own EV charging station operation through Starlight Charging – the team has installed and operated ports all across the country. Through this process, they not only built custom software, but discovered that electricians are in a unique position to profitably install and run the charging stations themselves.
First, a large majority of the installation cost is labor. Electricians can install stations during off-peak times, meaning they’ll keep their team busy now, investing in recurring revenue for later. Next, unlike nontechnical folk, electricians understand how these systems operate – it’s their bread and butter. Finally, if a charging station goes offline and needs maintenance, a locally-based station owner can get them repaired sooner – the incentives to keep the stations operating reliably are aligned!
